Music Class
Last week, we began talking about Peter and the Wolf, by Sergei Prokofiev. I hope that you all had a chance to listen to the story of Peter and the Wolf. As we move forward, please listen to the short history of Peter and the Wolf by clicking HERE.
At the bottom of this page, you will find a movie for Peter and the Wolf. Please watch the movie (it is 25 minutes). After you watch the movie, please write a paragraph of 5 sentences that tells how the story was different using music. For example, you might discuss the use of each character's unique theme song, or the way the music affected the tone of the specific scene. Also, please answer the following question: After listening to the history of Peter and the Wolf, how does Prokofiev use instruments to give personality to his characters? (For example, are there any specific sounds that give you ideas into the characters mood/personality/ideas?

Art Class
In the video below, you will watch a step by step guide on how to draw a tulip.
A tulip is a Spring blooming flower with large, colorful petals. Common colors for tulips are red, yellow, or pink. The color of the tulips can be associated with different things. For example, red tulips are commonly linked to love, and purple tulips are associated with royalty. In the video below, you will see the step by step drawing process for a tulip in a pot. Please watch the entire video before beginning your drawing. You will need paper, pencils, crayons or color pencils, and a marker. As mentioned before, I prefer you to draw with a pencil, so even though the leader in the video uses a marker, I would ask you to use a pencil. Please follow the steps to draw your tulip and pause the video as you need. Once you are finished with your drawing, please use a black marker to outline your drawing. Once your outline is complete, you should color your drawing the crayons or color pencils. Do your best to match the colors presented in the video, however, you can color the petals of your tulips red, yellow, pink, or purple.
