Week of May 11-15, 2020
Music Class
Please watch the videos below. In the first video, you will see the instruments that are used for each character, and you will see a picture of what those instruments look like. In the second video, you will see the illustrations of the story as I read. Over the last few weeks, you have seen the story and heard the instruments. For this week, I would like you to choose your favorite character. Please draw a picture of that character, and draw a picture of the instrument that represents that character. After you are finished your drawing, please write at least three sentences telling me which family of instruments your chosen instrument belongs to, along with a brief description. For example, if you choose Peter, you will draw Peter. You will also draw the violin, viola, cello, and double bass since Peter is represented by a string quartet. You will then write 3 or 4 sentences similar to the following: "Peter is represented by the string quartet. The string quartet consists of the violin, viola, cello, and double bass. All of the instruments are from the string family. All of the instruments are played using a bow." Please recall some previous information that you have and include it in your sentence if possible. You may also review videos and your work from previous weeks if necessary.
The last video is one that is just for fun. There is a Walt Disney version of Peter and the Wolf. The last video shows Walt Disney himself describing what it was like when he met with Sergei Prokofiev to discuss the music and story of Peter and the Wolf. The video also shows a musician playing the themes found in the story.

Art Class
For today's Art activity, we are going to draw Stitch from the movie, Lilo and Stitch! Please watch the full video before you begin your drawing. For this activity you will need paper, a pencil, a marker, and crayons or color pencils. Once again, the artist in this video draws using a marker, but I will ask you to please use a pencil to create your drawing. Once your drawing is complete, you can outline your drawing by tracing over your pencil lines with a marker. Please pause the video as you need in order to complete this project. Please pause the video close to the end so you can color your drawing to match the video. If you'd like, there is a video at the bottom of this page with a song from the movie. Feel free to listen to the song as you are coloring your picture.
