Music Class
Last week, we began talking about Peter and the Wolf, by Sergei Prokofiev. I hope that you all had a chance to listen to the story of Peter and the Wolf. As we move forward, please listen to the short history of Peter and the Wolf by clicking HERE.
At the bottom of this page, you will find a movie for Peter and the Wolf. Please watch the movie (it is 25 minutes). After you watch the movie, please write one or two sentences that tells how the story was different using music. For example, you might say, "I liked hearing the different song for each character." Or, "The music helped make the story more enjoyable".

One fun thing to do in the Spring, Summer, and Fall is kite flying! What is a kite? A kite is a toy made with a light frame with material stretched over it. It has a long string attached. A kite needs wind in order to be used because a kite is meant to fly in the air. Many times you will see people flying a kite at the beach. Why do you think people fly kites at the beach? Well, you need a large open space where there is plenty of room. Below you will find two videos. The first video is a fun, short, Disney Chip and Dale cartoon. In this funny video, you see how kites can fly. You also see what happens if you fly a kite too close to someone else.
The second video is the instructions for our kite drawing. Please pause the video as you need. You will need a pencil, crayons, and paper for this drawing. As I have said before, please draw using a pencil. It is easier to erase a mistake made with a pencil. If you draw with a marker and make a mistake, you will have to start over from the beginning. After you do your drawing with your pencil, you can trace your drawing with a black marker. After you trace with your maker, you can color your kite any colors that you want. You can also add details to the background. Maybe you want to draw clouds, or a sun, or the sky--the choice is yours! Remember to have fun with your drawing!
