Week of May 4-8, 2020
Music Class
Last week, we began talking about Peter and the Wolf, by Sergei Prokofiev. I hope that you all had a chance to listen to the story of Peter and the Wolf. As we move forward, please listen to the short history of Peter and the Wolf by clicking HERE.
At the bottom of this page, you will find a movie for Peter and the Wolf. Please watch the movie (it is 25 minutes). After you watch the movie, please write three or four sentences that tells how the story was different using music. For example, you might say, "I feel that each character having their own theme song helped make the story more interesting." Or, "The music helped make the story more enjoyable".

Art Class
Now that we are in the season of Spring, we are starting to see many of the trees and plants in our neighborhoods coming to life. In the video below, you will be instructed on how to draw a tree. Please watch the video in it's entirety before you do anything. You will need paper, a pencil, markers, and coloring materials (Crayons or Color Pencils). In the video, the leader will guide you step be step in the drawing of a tree. The leader likes to draw with marker, but I think it would be better for you to use a pencil. After you draw the initial shape of the tree with your pencil (the trunk and branches), please pause the video and outline your drawing with your black marker. Resume the video and use your pencil to draw the shape of the leaves. Follow the directions presented in the video. When you are finished your drawing, please color appropriately. You may use any coloring materials that you have in your home. You can use crayons or color pencils.
